Do you believe that love is the most powerful force upon the earth?  Do you believe that love conqueres all?  What is the meaning of love? The Wikipedia tells us that love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment.

There are many different ways to interperet love.  The love of a spouse, the love of parents, the love of a friend, the love of oneself.  Probably the hardest of these is to love thyself.  Remember in the New Testament when Jesus says, "Love your neighbor as yourself"?  Interestingly, he doesn't say love your neighbor more than yourself.  If we want to truly share our love with the world we must first love ourselves.

Think in Terms of One Day's Resolutions Not One Year's

The start of a new year always brings about: soul searching, reaching, climbing, and thoughts of changing the way we did things last year. It also brings: hope, expectation, optimism, and possibility.

As we begin filling in our crisp and clean calendars we are all wishing at some level for change. This is the way the Great God of Heaven created us, so we would, "Go forth and prosper." Thomas A. Edison tells us, "If we did all of the things we are capable of doing we would astound ourselves." And Jesus himself tells us, with the faith the size of a tiny, tiny mustard seed we can tell a huge and enormous mountain to throw itself into the sea and it shall be done.

The True Meaning of Christmas

This Christmas you may hear these words dozens and dozens of times, but have you ever stopped to dwell on their meanings?  Some may say, "What does peace have to do with Christmas?  It's the busiest time of the year."  Look at the meaning for giving.  Are the gifts you are giving this season coming from a heart of kindness that wants to give?  Or do you feel you must give because it is expected?

Since i was a child, I have loved A Charlie Brown Christmas.  The beginning of this show sets the stage of how disappointed Charlie Brown is with the commercialization of Christmas - even his dog has gone glitzy.  When I was younger, the part that got to me the most was the poor little tree, chosen by Charlie himself.  It seemed so sad and forgotten.  The tinkling sound heard while its needles dwindled off made me feel time was of the essence.  I think Charlie Brown has the same feeling, when he says, "It needs me."

Fading Leaves and Lasting Memories

It is October, the time of year when nature arouses all of our senses, making it the perfect time for contemplating and celebrating life. Leaves turn vibrant colors and crunch under our feet. Once on the ground their life will be absorbed by the soil and other organisms awaiting nourishment, giving the earth that distinctive smell only autumn can bring. Breathe deeply and enjoy.

As days become a bit shorter and colder look within; are there any old habits that you could allow to fall away and “leave” behind? Is it time for you to change your colors, too? New Year’s resolutions made now should be perfected by the time January first rolls around. If you are feeling the need to change now is the time to re-arrange. Stop – Look – Listen – Smell – Taste – Feel. What is your soul whispering to you? Do it!

Managing Your Time - Have You Ever Been Too Busy To Finish Brushing Your Teeth?
How many times have you heard someone say, "I don’t have enough time?"  or "There's never enough time." We are a society that runs from one thing to the next without ever really accomplishing what we want to do each day. One of my favorite quotes is by H. Jackson Brown.  “Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein
